Welcome to Mathematics
Maths is everywhere — from reading timetables and managing money to spotting patterns in nature and designing video games. It helps us solve problems, make sense of the world, and create new things.
This site is here to help you grow your confidence in maths, no matter where you’re starting from. You’ll learn step-by-step, practise your skills, and discover the power of mathematical thinking along the way.
Where to Begin
Each level is based on the New Zealand Curriculum and includes key topic areas: number, algebra, geometry, measurement, and statistics. You can begin at the level that feels right for you and explore topics in any order.
Level 4 Maths
Builds strong number sense with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages. Introduces measurement, angles, symmetry, and simple statistics.
Level 5 Maths
Extends understanding of number operations, ratios, and percentages. Develops algebraic thinking, graphing, measurement with formulas, and statistical investigation.
Level 6 Maths
Introduces formal algebra, linear equations, and coordinate geometry. Explores integers, probability, and practical trigonometry for right-angled triangles.
Level 7 Maths
Focuses on solving equations, manipulating algebraic expressions, and graphing relationships. Includes advanced statistics, geometry, and trigonometric applications.
Level 8 Maths
Covers calculus, advanced algebra, statistical inference, and modeling. Prepares students for university-level mathematics and real-world problem solving.
